dear mr  amir kahan, do u know, a doctor patient relationship is only on trust, i am not saying that all doctors r gud. but u can't humiliate a population of 95% good dr for few 5% fithy doctors. lets me tell u case in my clinic 2 months before a patient name rakesh lodh come to my clinic for some dental treatment. he also have a shoulder pain and ask for any good dr in the vicinity,so i refered him to an orthopedic dr next day he come to my clinic and said(dr woh dr to chor hai, mujhe kandhe me dukh raha hai or woh mujhe thyroid test karne bol raha hai) still i asked him to do the test and continue the treatment. test result comes negative no abnormality. still the orthopedic dr ask the patient to do a fnac of the thyroid gland. and by now the patient was convienced in his mind that the other dr is 'chor' still by gods grace he performs the test ,and now comes the results. fnac confirmed that he have thyroid cancer. now suddenly the orthopedic dr becomes god. thank god the episode of satyamevjayate was not telecasted 2 months back,otherwise sorry to say but this person would have died in a year or two because of self negligence.ultimately the one who is going to suffer is comman person.guilty dr needed to be punished,but humiliating dr who r working selflessly is unacceptable. now let me tell u what u have done by this episode suppose  a person have chest pain and he is brought to an hospital in hospital dr  says that the person has heart attack and need to be admitted to ICCU, he and his relative will say no ,the patient is only having pain of acidity and they will not admit. and thats the bloody fact. out of such 10 patients 8 will be going to die beacause u told them dr is a CHOR. so be prepared beacause this is going to happen. i know u didnt do it intentionally but still this 8 deaths will go to ur count which otherwise saved by dr

Hi Mr. Khan  You have touched a subject that is close to my heart ....corruption in healthcare ....I am a healthcare professional in the field of physiotherapy( trained in the USA  and have a few clinics setup in Hyderabad .... with the aim of providing the best therapy services irrespective of the amount of fees they pay . As far as my clinics go I always tell my therapist that if you do not maintain ethics do not work with me  ......As you know the state of health care today is that you pay and get your patients .......I am really reluctant to do business with peoples lives ...... so my clinics are at loss right now but still I am very happy and content to say that I am a satyameva jay ate clinic............I do not pay any doctors ... I do not advertise much and god is providing my every need .... The main reason that I do not like to partner with doctors is that I have to succumb to their decisions and diagnosis even if they are wrong ....Many times they are wrong ....I want you to highlight and tell a the public that physiotherapy is not an accessory or an extra aid .....Physiotherapy is a requirement .....It is part of the initial prescription in may countries ....doctors should prescribe it for prevention as well as treatment ......In many cases like stroke ....Physiotherapy is the only option ......and Physiotherapy for many means electrotherapy which is also not true ....Physiotherapy means making your body strong by exercising it so you fight the problem yourself ......it is a non invasive  , non surgical program............. Any way I would like you to thank you for bringing awareness to the public that their health is not in the doctors hands .....They have to be very careful in treading the hospitals because ............I had a few experiences my self with the healthcare in india ,  My son is 17 now hail and healthy .......but when he was 14 years old he was taken to the hospital because he was fainting in school ....it happened 3 times .....They did all the tests and said that he might have epilepsy and he needs to be on the drug for this condition ...... They even started him on the medication ..... I stopped it and went to see another neurologist and he said your son does not have any problem he is just suffering form growing up too fast and blood not being able to pump to the brain ( vasovagal syncope ).....He said it is not an illness and no need for further checkups ...... I have many more stories like this about my self .....how the insurance patients are treated in corporate hospitals. what to watch out for , how to take care of your health your self ..........I have seen many 23 year old software professionals having back surgery done because of disc problems ...........this is so illegal and un wanted ...........Sir I do not want to take up your time but Kudos for doing such a great job. ..............Pls help the physio in india to gain their true place and make a living worth it .....

Hi, I have real story to post. My elder brother met with an accident in Karkala, Karnataka State. His one of the leg was injured very badly. We have admitted him to Hospital, Manipal. The hospital has taken few tests and they told us everything will be ok. The accident happened on 19th February 2011 and they kept him in ICU for more than 20 days. On 18th March, they declared him dead!! The reason for the death is multi organ failure. We tried to understand why this has happened. He was not a diabetic or high BP patient. They kept him in ICU for a long time, how this happened. I sent few letters to management - nothing happened. Then, I have filed a complaint with consumer court (through core.nic.in), it was showing case under progress for few months, a month back I tried, it was showing Case closed. I sent a request email to core for the result nothing has happened. I have attached here copy of the letter for your reference. Kindly help us to get justice for this family. Thank you. Regards his brother Ravichandra (mumbai) The Management the Hospital Manipal Ref.: Satyanand , Sub:Wrong treatment Dear Sir, My brother Satyanand met with an accident on 19th February 2011 near Karkala and was immediately rushed to hospital. He suffered injuries only on his left leg and was provided treatment under Dr. Sharat Kumar. He succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on 18th March 2011 due to ""blood infection and multi-organ failure"". We fail to understand how a perfectly healthy person with no previous history of any medical condition and with injuries only on one leg could succumb to blood infection. This too, after almost a month-long treatment which included an operation involving a rod insertion in his leg and subsequent skin grafting. Also, of the 4 weeks that he was in the hospital, he was kept in the ICU for nearly 3 weeks. We believe a patient kept in the ICU should receive the highest medical attention and considering the medical condition of the patient, there was simply no reason why he lost his life. We have detailed the case below as per our knowledge. We also seek your immediate attention and resolution to the concerns raised by us below. i)As mentioned above, Satyanand Acharya was admitted to your hospital on 19th February 2011 with injuries to the left leg. ii)There were around 20 X-rays taken and the doctor informed us that he needed to undergo three operations on his leg. iii)The first operation was done around 28th Feb on the thigh where a rod was inserted. iv)Since the leg was injured and the skin was damaged, he had to get a grafting done before the second operation. This operation was delayed because the doctors were of the opinion that they should allow the wound to heal before proceeding with the grafting. The wound was thus left to heal for itself and there was a two weeks gap before they went in for the skin grafting. v)All this while, the patient was in the ICU only. Ironically however, no equipment in the ICU was utilized to justify him being kept in ICU for so long. Also note that during this interval, he did not suffer from any other illnesses. vi)The skin grafting was performed on 2nd week of 2011. vii)In the interim, he was temporarily shifted out of the ICU into a general ward without providing any substantial reason for this action. viii)Post the operation for the skin grafting, on 16th March, he complained of more pain. He was administered some injection / medicines post which he slipped into unconsciousness on 16th night. ix)He was unconscious throughout the day on 17th March as well and was put on ventilator support on the same evening. x)We were also informed that his hemoglobin levels were dropping and his blood pressure levels (which was also perfectly normal before) was dropping as well. xi)He was declared dead on 18th morning due to blood injection and multi-organ failure. Going through the above details, it is clear that something went wrong in his treatment and triggered his almost immediate collapse and subsequent death post the administration of the medicine on 16th. We have several unanswered questions on how a person could die after being injured only on one leg? Why were we given differing answers to questions raised on him being kept in ICU? (The doctor told us that this was to avoid infection and the nurses told us that there was no place in the general ward!) Despite all this, how could he, after being kept in ICU for so long develop ""blood infection"" and die from it?? We demand that a hospital of your repute do a detailed investigation of the diagnosis cum treatment of this patient and come up with valid answers for the death of this human being. You must realize that this man was the sole bread-winner in his family and this loss is too great to overcome for his wife and two young daughters. We are still struggling to find answers to give his family and hope that you will come up with good reasons for his death. We would also like to know what your responsibility towards his family is. The complainant (Mr. Rai) has provided false information and also withheld crucial information which may have made Aamir Khan believe the fabricated story of Pankaj Rai. 1. Mr. Rai never informed Aamir Khan that Mrs. Seema Rai was registered for a cadaver transplantation more than one year prior to surgery. The call on the night of admission was made because a cadaver donor had become available. Cadaver transplantation has to be done emergently, otherwise the organ(s) will decay and become useless. That is why the patient was admitted on the night of 1 May 2010. The patient and her family were all informed about risks and benefits of transplantation for more than 2 years (since June 2008). 2. Mr. Rai, Mrs. Rai and Abha Rai all were again counseled for more than 1 hour on the night of admission about kidney and pancreas transplantation. Subsequently they also discussed with their relative in New York. Then on the night of 1 May itself Mr. Rai personally informed the doctors to proceed with kidney + pancreas transplantation. The Informed Consent form was signed on the night of 1 May itself and handed over the ward doctor. The Karnataka Medical Council as well as the National Law School of India have investigated the Informed Consent issue and clearly stated that Informed Consent was indeed taken prior to surgery. In fact, if the Informed Consent was not given on the night of 1 May, the organ would have been allocated to the next patient on the waiting list for cadaver transplantation who was already admitted to another Hospital. (Whenever a cadaver donor is available, several patients on the waiting list such as Seema Rai are called and advised to get admitted.) 3. Mr. Rai never asked anybody in the Hospital to stop the surgery at any time. He was plainly lying when he made a statement to that effect to Aamir Khan. On the contrary, during the entire hospitalization, Mr. Rai was praising the doctors for their hardwork in trying to save his wife. 4. The patient did not receive 119 units of blood, i.e., 60 liters of blood. She received 33 units of blood over 4 days which is about 10 liters since she had developed a massive bleeding condition called Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC). She also received platelets, FFP and other blood products to correct DIC. 5. The surgeon is definitely qualified to conduct pancreatic transplantation as well as kidney transplantation. He is trained at the world famous Hospitals in the United States where he had conducted numerous multi-organ transplantation surgeries. 6. The Hospital was registered for multi-organ transplantation. There was a clerical error in the Certificate which was acknowledged by the Health Department. The Health Department have clearly stated in their report that registration for liver includes pancreas as well (since the skill required for transplantation of both these organs is one and the same). 7. Mr. Rai also withheld from Aamir Khan that the Karnataka Medical Council has thoroughly investigated the case and found no evidence of any negligence on the part of the doctors. I am sure Mr. Rai has used his theatrical skills to convince Aamir Khan and his team about his false allegations. I am also confident that Aamir Khan will realize the lapse his research team has done once all the facts are provided to him.  

hi aamir, i watched latest episode of satyamev ajayate about health system.actually my own family is a victim of same problem.i'm from malout (punjab)my aunt was admitted to a private hospital in malout for an operation to get rid of ovarian cyst. i was there on same day and i was shocked to see that the orther staff members who were helping that doctor during that operation were not qualified for that job.one lady who ws in operation theatre at that time was just G.N.M nurse.the other guy was just working in hospital for long time without any study.and thetre was one guy who used to work at doctor's home as a servant he was helping him during operation. doctor came out of operation theatre after removing tht cyst and someone else did stitching. then my aunty was discharged from hospital after few days.just after one week she was again rushed to same hospital due to heavy bleeding. doctor said it's normal and she was discharged again after 3 days.it happened 3-4 times.then we decided to go for medical examination again at bhatinda. we were surprised to found that there was still a small cyst in there and the bleeding was from a cut which wasn't stiched. then later she was admitted to DMC Ludhiana. where she was admitted for almost one month to recover and we spend 1.5-2 lakhs.my uncle filed a case against that doctor in consumer forum at district level. they made a commitee to find out the truth all the findings were against that doctor. but just before the decision the head of that forum asked my uncle to withdraw case and offered 50,000 rupees for that.but my uncle refused.then the case was dismissed. my uncle again filed a case at state level forum.but that doctor is trying to threaten my family.my uncle is getting notices from that doctor without any reason because that doctor wants him to withdraw case against him.because there was a decision against that doctor in a similar case and he was ordered to pay 2 lakhs to victim.i am looking forward to you if you can help me to promote this. i hope you will help my family. s

It happened with myself I had swear pain in stomach when I went to the Dr who is friend of mine he asked to go for scan i got it done. Then i called him he told me that there is problem in ur pencrea which is to b removed. Then took the second opinion he again asked to have a scan which was all fine but I swear acidity . Second is my wife after giving birth to child she started having pain in the shoulder we got her checked Dr Said it is just dueto weakness after the Dilivery . This all happened in one of the best hospital Ludhiana . Then got her checked in other place where the took her MRI &X RAY and told she was having gaint cell tumor inshoulder in capula which even bursted and can be dangerous nd go for a urly surgery after which I met no of Dr nd good hospital everybody told we v heard for the first time only solution is to chop of the shoulder that is arm of my 28 yrs wife then Dr Trehan who our friend advised me Dr in delhi And told him if I can scoop out from nerrow veins of heart why cant u from big shoulder then he did it nd told other were avoiding of lengthy procedure which took 13to14 hrs at last she is fine AMAN

hello i am saurabh n an optician n having optical store by d name of m/s kanwar optics, punjab. in our profession doctors send their persons to us for referring them for eye surgery n offers us commission. many persons cme to me for tht thing but v nvr dne tht type of things. v alwys reffers doctors bt v gve thm instuctions to not give thm our name. 2nd thing in our business, every optican hve settings wid every eye specialist to make or reffer thm for spectacles, coz of commission. 3rd thing every doctor hve optician in their hospitals for spectacles n dey charge alot eithr d person is poor or rich..... but i always denies for thz type of things n i also provide free eye testing for poor people n i feel myself top of d world.....

thing to get her its individual hence i dont go in deep 32 year govt specialist geting 42000 with pt dduduction 12 month aproximate 5.25 taxation deduction per year 32 000 some utsav jayanti ntaji Hello Aamir, I would like to share my story with you regarding medical malpractices by doctors in our country. I live in Gurgaon which is considered to be one of the most progressive cities in India. I got married in 2010 & planned a baby after 1 year of my marriage. I & my family were very happy to know that I was pregnant. We consulted a friend and got to know about a gynac who was very near to our house. We went and consulted her, after looking at an ultrasound (which clearly mentioned that there was no sac in the uterus & the blood reports) she told us that the pregnancy is weak but asked us for conducting an ultrasound only after 10 days. Also, she said she is going to support the pregnancy & gave medicines for the pregnancy to grow. 2 days after we consulted her, suddenly in the morning I started experiencing severe pain. My husband immediately called up our doctor & she said I can't talk to you because I am going to leave my kids to school right now€™. My condition worsened, I started vomiting & sweating profusely. My husband contacted the doctor again & she suggested a medicine on phone without even trying to find the cause of the problem. My husband got that medicine & gave it to me but there was no improvement in my condition. My husband called the doctor again, & this time she said ‘If she cannot take this much pain how will she take the labour pains€™ & she put the phone down. The pain had started 6 AM in the morning & at 4 PM my husband again called the doctor to emphasize that my condition was critical. At that moment she told him that you take her to the hospital(very small private hospital) & I will tell the gynac there to look at her (She did not have any intention to come & see her own patient) or else bring her to my clinic at 5.30 PM when it opens. Even after my husband€™s repeated requests she did not come to have a look at me. Finally we contacted my cousin who knew another doctor. My husband talked to the doctor & after hearing about my condition she said don’t even wait for the ambulance just rush her to hospital & she herself rushed to hospital. Finally I was operated from 9.30 PM till 11.30 PM to save my life. It was an ectopic pregnancy which was not detected by the incompetent Doctor.The fallopian tube burst & caused internal bleeding & immense pains. I had a blood loss of around 2 Ltrs. I was on bed for around 2 Months. I have written to MCI thrice & filed RTI twice after which the MCI finally forwarded my complaint to the Haryana State medical council. If you try to find the name of the PIO for this organisation, you will face a lot of difficulties. I am still trying to fight, not for myself because I have already lost one of my tubes & halved my chances of becoming pregnant again, but I really wish that some people can be saved from that Doctor with my efforts. I would like to ask Dr Talwar, what are the medical ethics? Dot take the patient seriously or tell them to bring the patient to their clinic no matter if the patient can even walk? Or tell the patient that I will ask another doctor to look at you? Or be so insensitive towards the patient? After that day the Doctor never called to ask whether I am still alive or not. That's because I am not her family I am just a patient but the Doctors should realise that we are somebody's family. God saved my life but others might not be that lucky. Dear Aamir, Well done for touching on medical malpractice. Unfortunately, it has been happening for as long as the esistence of medicine! I am a highly trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty experience in hip and knee replacements. I am working as a consultant in Liverpool, UK. In April 2012, I visited my home town Mumbai and did some investigations as to coming back to Mumbai and give something back to my Country. I went to some hospitals as well as private practice. I was not entertained by any of the big hospitals so far because I do not have BIG contacts! I have also been told that I can not survive in private practice without giving 50% commission to referrring doctors, some of them are not even trained doctors (GPs). The only option I see is to build my own orthopaedic hospital with a big signpost 'no malpractice entertained'! I have received discouragements from existing surgeons in Mumbai that it will never work. They blame patients that it is them who want to go through big tests and operations to get better! My father was a mere truck driver in India and I reached this far from sheer hard work. Now I want to come back but it seems the doors have been closed by these non ethical practices. I am working with some of my colleagues to look into setting up a private venture. It does take in excess of 100 crores Rs but I am sure I will succeed. I definitely let you know what happens.
